New Track at the U Will Bring Another Soccer Field

We made an exciting announcement last week about our new locker room facility, which will be ready for this fall season. And today we have more great news...The University will be building a new track and field facility this summer. And inside of the new oval will be a soccer field! The track is being built just north of Ute Field, where the old dorms were located. It is being designed as a "fat track" with wider turns...meaning we can fit a full-sized soccer field inside of it. The surface will be Field Turf.

Right now, we would envision using the soccer field for some training, conditioning as well as camps and clinics. It will be nice to have another place to do these things so we don't beat up Ute Field.

There is also the possibility of having another natural grass field to train on at times right next to the new track. We will keep you updated as things progress. There was a good piece in the Daily Utah Chronicle today about the new track facility...
