We're not sure if this is real....but, if so, kind of funny...and BRAVO to the referee!
Courtesy of Soccer America, we hear that in non-league English soccer, a Chorlton Villa soccer player was shown a yellow card for "passing gas" as an International Manchester FC took a penalty kick, and missed. The penalty kick was re-taken and made. Two Villa players were then ejected for swearing while questioning the breaking-wind caution, but Villa managed a 6-4 victory. A third Villa player was ejected for a separate incident of cursing.
The referee said, "the player that made the noise was booked for ungentlemanly conduct- trying to put the other player off."
Now we've heard it all...
